IN this course the student will learn to: relate normal growth and development, as well as, the physical, emotional and social needs of the pediatric client; apply fundamental nursing skills and principles in the care of the pediatric client and family; and describe various pediatric disorders.

-Differentiate between normal and abnormal patterns of growth and development of the pediatric patient.

-Recognize the health promotional needs of the pediatric patient.
-Collaborate with other health professionals to promote and maintain health of the pediatric patient.
-Apply the nursing process in the management of pediatric disorders.
-Discuss the child's perception related to hospitalization.
-Discuss the nurse's role in the care of the hospitalized child.
