At the completion of this course, the student will be able to construct a finger project, discuss the fundamentals of tooth preparations, fabricate a model work, explain the introduction to productivity, discuss metal frame design, demonstrate the steps of coping waxing, explain bridge framework, and how to use posterior bridge sequence drills. Other topics include: anatomical single crown waxing, anatomical three unit bridge waxing, and tooth identification.

1.Lesson 1 - Finger Project
-Assemble and prepare supplies necessary for the finger project.
-Perform steps used to fabricate a project.
-Demonstrate the proper techniques use of instruments, dental waxes, and gypsum products.
-Construct a finger project.

Lesson 2 - Fundamentals of tooth preparations
- Discuss the difference between removable and fixed prosthodontics.
-Identify the different types of tooth preparations.
-Identify the types of margins.
-Discuss the importance of correct margins in fabrication of a crown.

Lesson 3 -Impressions and model work.
-Identify the different types of impression trays that may be used in dentistry and when they are used.
-Discuss the criteria for evaluating a crown & bridge impression.
-Identify the steps to pour, trim, base & saw a model.
-Discuss the criteria for evaluating a crown & bridge model and die.
-Discuss the importance of marginal integrity.
-Identify the steps to bulk trim and trim the margins of a die.
-Demonstrate the steps of crown and bridge model work.
-Fabricate model work.

Lesson 5 - Metal Frame Design
-Identify the labial bridge framework

Lesson 7 -Bridge Framework
