This course will provide knowledge to enable the student to transfer, ambulate and position residents/clients safely.

items found in the typical patient unit.
-Operate
basic equipment found in the typical patient unit.
-Discuss
ways to control the patient's environment.
-Using
the principles of good body alignment, resident/patient positioning and
supportive devices.
-Demonstrate
safe techniques for transferring, moving, lifting residents/patients with and
without assistive devices.
-Adjust a hospital bed .

-Ambulate
resident/patient with/without assistive devices.
-Operate
a wheelchair safely.
-Perform
assistive/active range of motion exercises.
-Follow
a resident/patient's exercise plan.
-Demonstrate
the ability to:




-Prepare
a patient unit





-Place
the bed in prone position





-Place
the bed in Fowler's position





-Place
the bed in Trendelenberg position





-Make
an occupied bed

an unoccupied bed
