Surgical Technology Orientation
Surgical Technology Orientation includes the basic safety concepts, individual learning styles, introduction to information technology and review of the surgical technology handbook.

1. Discuss the philosophy, rules and regulations consistent with the Technology Center, Surgical Technology career major.
2. Describe the principles of environmental safety controls and guidelines.
3. Discuss the potential hazards in the operating room environment.
4. Apply safety principles to provide a safe physical environment and prevent occupational hazards for self and others.
5. Explore individual learning styles.
6. Describe the basic components of a computer system.
