Course Information
Introduction to Laboratory Careers
This course familiarizes students with various laboratory types and common similarities and differences. A general overview of the discipline will be presented with heavy emphasis on safety, appropriate disposal of hazardous materials, and related mathematics.

A. Identify different areas of laboratory careers (i.e., medical, environmental, industrial, etc.)

B. Be able to identify the qualifications for specific laboratory careers

C. Have an understanding of the salary ranges of laboratory careers

D. Identify and list the hazards of specific laboratory jobs.

E. Demonstrate the soft skills needed in a laboratory setting in order to maintain a job

F. Research a laboratory career of interest and present the findings in an oral presentation
