Aviation - Secondary, Material/Processes/Corrosion Control/Nondestructive Testing
Students will identify and select appropriate onodestructive testing methods, perform penetrate chemical eching, and magnetic particle inspections, perform basic heat-treating processes and inspect aircraft welds. In addition students will identify and select aircraft cleaning products for internal and external surfaces. They will identify forms of corrosion and remove and treat area.

-Identify and select appropriate non-destructive testing methods

-Perform dye penetrate, eddy current, ultrasounic, and magnetic particle inspections

-Perform basic heat treating processes

-Identify and select aircraft hardware and materials

-Inspect and check welds

-Perform precision measurements

Written and practical evaluations will be performed at the Part 147 AMTS.

This course aligns with FAA Part 147 certified Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) curriculum requirements. Teaching of this course by any entity other than a FAA 147 certified AMTS does not constitute FAA certification. Furthermore, each AMTS must have its curriculum approved by the FAA in its entirety, identifying the hours of instruction, order of instruction, subjects prescribed by Part 147, practical application projects, scheduling of tests, grading criteria, and makeup provisions.
