Introduction to Criminal Justice for Law Enforcement
An introduction to the historical background, professional direction, agencies and processes, purposes, functions, ethics, administration, and technical problems of the criminal justice for practical law enforcement system. Areas examined are municipal, state, and federal systems.

1. Describe the historical background and direction of American Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice System.
2. Identify various law enforcement agencies and their basic responsibilities.
3. Describe various ethical, administrative and technical challenges of the criminal justice field.
4. Identify the differences between Municipal, County, State, and Federal Systems.
5. Identify the three core components of the Criminal Justice System
Classroom discussion and participation, homework/written assignments, performance skill demonstrations, oral and written quizzes and tests, student projects and/or portfolios.
