Introduction to Studio Lighting

In this course, students learn to use studio lighting to achieve desired effects. In addition, students learn to use backgrounds, posing techniques and light metering.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Determine correct lighting ratios
Use studio electronic flash systems correctly
Use a professional flash meter correctly
Identify several methods of portrait lighting
Use appropriate studio backgrounds and posing
techniques
The total grade will be determined by daily grades, written exams, hands-on performance evaluations, projects, and demonstrated employability skills (i.e. attendance, self-management, attitude, responsibility, social skills, safety, teamwork, appropriate dress, etc.).
