Macintosh Computer Basics

Students learn to operate hardware components using the Macintosh computer system. They learn terminology and create a hierarchical filing system.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Use basic computer equipment and terminology correctly

2. Start and exit a software application and utilize sources of online help

3. Identify common on-screen elements of applications, change application settings, and manage files within an application

4. Perform common editing and formatting functions

5. Perform common printing functions

6. Organize a file management system on the hard drive.



The total grade will be determined by daily
grades, written exams, hands-on performance evaluations, projects, and
demonstrated employability skills (i.e. attendance, self-management, attitude,
responsibility, social skills, safety, teamwork, appropriate dress, etc.).
