This course is intended to meet the educational requirements to sit for the Pedorthics certification exam. The student will be introduced to the four domains of Pedorthics and gain the entry-level knowledge and abilities to function in a clinical setting.

Admission to the FTTC O&P Technician program; and enrollment in the Orthotic and Prosthetic Equipment and Materials course as a co-requisite.
1. Learn and practice Pedorthic assessment.
2. Learn and practice implementation of the Pedorthic treatment plan.
3. Understand principles and methods of practice/business management.
4. Understand concepts of professional responsibility.
5. Understand concepts of professional development.
6. Understand and apply foot and ankle anatomy and biomechanics.
7. Learn and demonstrate fabrication techniques for commonly prescribed Pedorthic devices.
8. Learn common pathologies encountered in foot and ankle patients.
9. Learn basic observational gait analysis.
