Electronic Health Records II
Students will continue to learn how to manage electronic health information using common electronic data interchange systems. Through classroom and computer lab training students acquire the skills necessary to maintain the medical, legal, accreditation and regulatory requirements of the electronic health record and database; project management and fundamentals of change.

5.0 Demonstrate an understanding of the usage of personal health records.
5.1 Identify personal health record content.
5.2 Identify the types of personal health record applications.
5.3 Identify barriers to the implementation of personal health records.

6.0 Demonstrate knowledge of compliance and ethics.
6.1 Abide by the policies set forth by HIPAA.
6.2 Demonstrate an understanding of the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
6.3 Demonstrate an understanding of the HIPAA Security Rule.
6.4 Identify threats to the security of electronic information.

7.0 Demonstrate an understanding of the Practice Partner (the ambulatory EHR).
7.1 Demonstrate proper usage of passwords, access levels, and the park feature.
7.2 Identify components of the main practice partner screen.
7.3 Identify components of the dashboard feature.
7.4 Demonstrate proper application of patient registration information.
7.5 Demonstrate proper usage of the patient chart.
