Fundamentals of Project Management
This course introduces students to basic concepts in project management. Students will be exposed to project goals and objectives, work breakdown structures, project scheduling, resource allocation, cost planning and control, and project reporting and evaluation. Students will learn to use project management software productively to plan projects with multiple tasks, customize graphs and reports, and communicate project information and status.

-Describe procurement and contracting and how it relates to project management.
-Describe the types of contracts.
-Evaluate the basic concepts of quality and risk in project management.
-Identify risk factors that might impact projects.
-Analyze the quality of work in a project.
-Analyze the positive and negative risks.
-Develop a risk mitigation plan.
-State the reasons for monitoring projects.
-Describe the relationship of monitoring and controlling to the project plan.
-Describe the primary methods of status reporting.
-Describe the change management process.
-Experience and react to unexpected internal and external factors affecting their projects.
-Develop project presentations.
