Database Developer
This major prepares students for database administration developer duties such as researching, planning, designing, coordinating and recommending applications and systems to meet an organization’s business database requirements as a means to retrieve and analyze data, to extract, transform and load data, in supporting the organization in achieving its strategic goals. Students acquire four major skills: analytical, technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills. They are responsible for developing database forms and analysis, design analysis, and implementation time-lines, interacting with clients, design software, performance testing, and implementation of creative relational database forms using PL/SQL or applications developer. Students gain the technical skills required for industry certification and may choose among Oracle, Microsoft and CIW database certifications.
