Cyber Security Compliance Specialist
This major prepares students to plan, conduct and report on information technology audits, which are used primarily to evaluate an organization's ability to protect its information assets and properly dispense information to authorized parties. Students are introduced to basic security principles involving networks and operating systems, including the current threats, vulnerabilities and policies of electronic commerce. They gain an understanding of the principles of risk management, security architectures, incident handling, disaster recovery and secure systems administration. Students study typical aspects of information technology audits and apply their knowledge to manage the risk of security attacks and implement appropriate compliance policies and strategies. Students gain skills required for certifications in Security Certified Network Specialist (SCNP), Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), and Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA).
