Systems Analyst
This major prepares students to analyze data processing problems to automate or improve existing systems. Systems analysts may review computer system capabilities and may analyze or recommend commercially available software. Students implement and write programs using Java and/or other programming languages. They use Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools to improve and test software development. Students learn to manage projects that meet deadlines, stay within a budget, and develop communication skills to work effectively with co-workers and business contacts. Students gain skills required for the Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA) and CompTIA Project+ certifications.
