This major prepares students for careers in electronic marketing. Students gain skills in marketing, sales and advertising with a primary focus on identifying markets and communicating effectively with customers on the Internet. The application of technology to perform marketing duties including word processing, databases, spreadsheets and graphics is emphasized. Students acquire fundamental web authoring and design skills and study future trends in web programming. Students develop leadership traits and identify their leadership potential through participation in the DECA (an association of marketing students) student organization.
