Power Products Specialist
The Power Products Technology program emphasizes business, industry, and labor guidelines designed to prepare students for entry-level employments in the outdoor power equipment and motorcycle service industry. Students will learn troubleshooting and repair techniques for various types of power products including lawn and garden equipment, motorcycles, and ATVs. Courses will cover the theory of two-and four-stroke engines, tune-up and overhaul of engines, electrical theory and troubleshooting, carburetion theory and troubleshooting, working in a power products shop, and fundamentals of customer relations. Employment opportunities include working as a small engine repair technician, motorcycle technician, power products sales and service specialist, a service mechanic in a dealership or to be an independent repair technician or owner. Upon successful completion of the program, students will have an opportunity to receive certification as Power Products: Gasoline Engine Mechanic and/or Motorcycle Technician from the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
