Oracle Database Developer
This major prepares students for Oracle database developer duties such as researching, planning, analyzing, designing, creating, coordinating, and recommending database applications and systems to meet an organization’s business database requirements as a means to retrieve and analyze data, to extract, transform and load data in supporting the organization in achieving its strategic goals, while maintaining the integrity and security of the database. Students acquire four major skills: analytical, technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills. They are responsible for designing and developing databases, coordinating with technical and business users, and using SQL and PL/SQL to create applications to create, update, delete, and manipulate database records and objects. Students gain the technical skills required for industry certification and may choose among Oracle, Microsoft, and CompTIA certifications.
