Graphic Design Technician
Provides students with a working knowledge of the basic skills and techniques used in the printing and graphic design industry. This program allows each student to work on projects from the beginning point of an idea through the completion of a printed product. Areas covered include graphic layout and design, digital file preparation, digital file output, press operations, web site production, portfolio development, binding, and finishing, Business, industry, and labor guidelines are emphasized for successful entry-level skills and to prepare for occupational certification in graphic arts. Upon successful completion of the program students will have an opportunity to receive occupational certification from the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education in the following areas: Graphic Communications - Digital Prepress Technician, Offset Press Operator, and/or Bindery Operator and/or Advertising Design - Copy Center Technician, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, and/or Production Artist.
