2.    A high school junior or senior.
3.    A member of a minority race.

Destination: College by the College Board, February 26  from 5:00 – 8:00 pm EST
Join CollegeWeekLive for the first of five online events for middle & high school students and their families. College Board representatives will be giving presentations in both English and Spanish to help you learn about the college process, including how to plan, prepare and pay for college. Students may register at CollegeWeekLive any time before the event to receive a login and password. You can register for C.S.I. (Career Services Investigation):  Breaking the Transition Code.  Workshops will be held at the following locations:
February 12, 2013 - Indian Capital Technology Center in Muskogee
February 14, 2013 - Mid-Del Technology Center in Midwest City
February 22, 2013 - Western Technology Center in Burns Flat

Registration is from 8:45 - 9:00 and the workshop begins at 9:00 and goes until 12:00 noon.  Topics covered will include: disability employment, IEPs and transition, OKCIS overview/training, and social media for special educators.

Military Regional Workshops

Oklahoma Department of CareerTech is partnering with state agencies and technology centers across the state to provide hands on workshops specifically geared towards providing quality student services to our veteran and military student population.  Registration for these regional trainings is free! Click on www.okcareertech.org/students/veteran-resources/workshop%20registration and then follow the links you will see below to register for training at the technology center nearest you.  Registration will begin at 8:30 and the workshop will start at 9:00 and go till 12:00 noon.  Topics covered will include: transcript analysis, SB 1863 overview, guidance processes, local veteran resources, and disability issues.  Resources to use with veterans will also be available.

OkACTE/ESSP Casy Cundiff Outstanding Student Scholarship

The Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE)/Education Services
Special Populations (ESSP) is offering a student the financial scholarship award to acknowledge
the achievement of a career and technology student(s) who is a person with a disability and has
overcome barriers to achieve his/her highest potential for success. The purpose for this student
scholarship is to assist the student in accessing or completing a career and technology education
career major or entering into the occupation for which he/she has trained. Up to 3 scholarship
awards between $200 and $500 will be made depending upon funds available and number of
scholarship awards presented. Scholarship awards must be used to assist with the cost of tuition,
fees, books, tools, and/or other expenses connected to employment or training.  Deadline: April 15.
