Good Morning, Student Services Contacts:

We completed our 13th  annual Counselors Only Conference in partnership with the Oklahoma State Department of Education with a series of firsts:

-first time for practitioners proposals for sessions
-first time for 45 minute sessions
-first time for streaming live sessions (Thanks to the State Department of Education)
-first time for waiting list
-first time for no onsite registration

Thanks to all those who attended and all those who did let us know that their plans had changed so others could attend.  We received lots of good comments on the conference and are already looking forward to next year.

OkACTE Guidance Division Spring Workshop

-ATTENTION Primary and Secondary Members of OkACTE Guidance Division

The annual OkACTE Guidance Division Spring Workshop will be held March 31 at Metro Tech in the Economic Development Center from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.  This is a free workshop for OkACTE Guidance primary and secondary members.  Others are welcome to come but there is a $25 fee to attend if you are not a member of OkACTE Guidance. Using the MBTI® Assessment in Career Development: Insights and Applications
Wednesday, March 22nd 1pm-2pm

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment has a long history of use in career choice and career development. In this session Rich Thompson, Senior Director of Research at CPP, Inc. will provide a brief overview of the MBTI instrument, specifically covering what it is and what it measures. He will also discuss using MBTI personality type information in relation to career development and career identification, focusing on how type can inform where a person might work, as well as how particular types tend to cluster into specific occupations. Finally, Rich will provide examples of application of the MBTI in educational and career contexts.
