FAA/MMAC Educator Workshops

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center and the Regional Human Resources Services Division are partnering to host Educator Workshops at the Aeronautical Center campus in Oklahoma City, OK on July 16 and 18, 2019, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM each day.  The workshops are designed to provide educators with an introduction to various aspects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics related work activities and learning technologies in FAA.

Participants will become acquainted with the work performed by an air traffic control specialist and the training tools utilized to make air traffic controllers proficient in their jobs, followed by a tour of a Basic Radar Training facility.  The workshops will include hands-on experiences in an air traffic control simulator and tower/terminal training systems.  Each session will conclude with a luncheon and opportunities for participants to provide feedback to our team on the day’s activities.  The target audience for this invitation are individuals with responsibilities for curriculum development, course design and teachers at the middle and high school levels in the courses noted below:

  • Mathematics (Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry)
  • Information Technology
  • Engineering
  • Electronics Technology
  • Aerospace
  • Science
