Instructional Coaching and Mentoring Training

Teachers who are paired with instructional coaches and mentors improve their teaching, which leads to enhanced student success. The purpose of this statewide CareerTech professional development opportunity is to equip schools with individuals skilled to provide coaching and mentoring support.

Tulsa Tech will host the statewide Instructional Coaching and Mentoring training opportunity on the Owasso campus in the Sycamore room of the conference center. Proceeds from the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund will be used to cover the cost of the presenter, training materials, lodging, and meals. Participants are responsible for their transportation.

Applicant Qualifications: 
  1. Applicants must either be (1) an incumbent CareerTech teacher who aspires to coach or mentor other teachers, or (2) an administrator looking for tools to support sound instructional coaching/mentoring practices.
  2. Must be a citizen of Oklahoma.
  3. Must be able to fully participate in the three training sessions held on the following dates, 1) May 23-24, 2018; 2) January 24, 2019; 3) May 22, 2019
  4. Coach or mentor one teacher during the 2018-2019 school year.

Application Submission Deadline:  Applications must be submitted by April 22, 2018.
