School Board Member Training

CareerTech will provide and/or coordinate, approve and document professional development workshops and/or training seminars for technology center board members.

Qualified school board training hours must be instruction provided at a workshop, conference, convention or seminar held in-state and conducted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, the Oklahoma State School Boards Association, or an approved professional development program of the board member's district. Any other professional development must have prior approval in writing from the Oklahoma State Department of Education or Department of Career and Technology Education to be qualified for school board training points.

School Board Member Training Approval Process

Board member training not sponsored by OSSBA will need to have approval.

1.Complete the Technology Center School Board Member Workshop Request for Approval Form and submit to. Attach supporting documents including agendas and any additional information to assist in the approval process.

2. Notification will be emailed indicating request was approved or did not qualify.

3. After attending the workshop, submit verification of attendance and the Technology Center School Board Member Workshop Certification of Completion Form to 

4. This form and supporting documents will be saved for our records. ODCTE will submit the form to OSSBA. Points will be recorded on the OSSBA portal as soon as possible.
