CareerTech partnerships making a difference for students

Tulsa Technology Center, AAON Inc. and Glenpool Public Schools are working together to boost the workforce in the Tulsa area.

Tulsa Tech will embed its Foundations of Manufacturing program as an elective class at Glenpool High School. AAON, which manufactures industrial and commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, has pledged $100,000 to create the classroom and lab according to an article in the Tulsa World.



CareerTech System featured in The Oklahoman

An article in The Oklahoman on Sunday highlighted Oklahoma CareerTech’s success preparing students for careers and working with business and industry to provide training for employees.

The article focuses on a student-turned-instructional assistant in the Moore Norman Technology Center auto collision program, but also includes information about the statewide system.



CareerTech story to air on OKC channel

Oklahoma City’s KWTV on channel 9 will featured CareerTech in a special at 10 p.m. Thursday.

The piece will discuss how CareerTech helps students prepare for both careers and college.

Joy Thomas, ODCTE transition coordinator, was inducted to the University of Oklahoma Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education’s Hall of Fame on Friday.

The Hall of Fame was created to recognize graduates who have provided exceptional service in the field of education.

Thomas works diligently with students in the CareerTech Skills Centers program through our partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. She provides students guidance on job interviews, work ethic and communications while connecting with employers to employ our students. Congratulations, Dr. Thomas!
