CareerTech educator receives honor

Oklahoma CareerTech retiree Lou Hargrave receives the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Summit for Educational Equity.
Oklahoma CareerTech retiree Lou Hargrave recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity at the National Summit for Educational Equity.

The award honors an individual who has contributed to NAPE’s commitment to equity, access and diversity through leadership efforts at the local, state or national levels.

Hargrave most recently served as Work Prep and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families coordinator at ODCTE and adviser for the Oklahoma Career and Technical Educators Equity Council. She was ODCTE equity coordinator for more than a decade, managing the Displaced Homemakers Program and the Careers Unlimited Program. In those roles she provided gender equity in-service training and technical assistance to local educational agencies, assisted with civil rights reviews and served on the ODCTE accreditation and evaluation team specializing in equity standards.


Oklahoma has 15 National BPA winners

Ninety-four Oklahoma BPA students placed in the top 10 at BPA Nationals last week, and 15 were national winners:

  • Haily Riddle, Indian Capital Technology Center - Muskogee, Advanced Office Systems & Procedures

  • Jessica Clark, Moore Norman Technology Center, Business Law & Ethics and Legal Office Procedures
