Technical Education Post highlights Francis Tuttle manufacturing technology program

Francis Tuttle Technology Center’s manufacturing technology machining program -- and instructor Dean Baker -- are among those highlighted in a Technical Education Post article about CNC education in the United States.

Baker uses Siemens Lifelong Educational Advantage Program to teach his students, which helps put “students on a path to a career, not just a job,” the article says.



OETA news show highlights construction industry, Meridian Tech

OETA’s “Oklahoma News Report” featured Meridian Technology Center’s construction trades program in a segment about Oklahoma’s construction industry and the skills gap, which CareerTech’s technology centers are working to fill.

U.S. Rep. Kendra Horn, D-Okla., toured the CareerTech agency Thursday and learned about many of the offerings to students and businesses in the state.

She took time to talk to the Business Professionals of America state officer team members, who were in Stillwater for a planning session with Paxton Cavin, BPA adviser. Horn also spoke to State Director Marcie Mack and several employees about the various CareerTech programs and initiatives that foster economic and workforce development in the state.

Accompanying the congresswoman were Chacey Schoeppel, communications assistant and former state FFA officer, and Chris MacKenzie, communications director based in Washington, D.C.
