What can CareerTech business and industry services do for you?

Oklahoma CareerTech’s Business and Industry Services Division has the resources to guide you through the maze of government contracting to help your company grow. Assistance for small business is available to train and retool workers or train a new workforce to guarantee production from day one. The CareerTech System also provides training and resources for volunteer firefighters and short-term professional development for adults.

Students attend CTSO Day at the Capitol

Student leaders from seven co-curricular CareerTech student organizations and National Technical Honor Society, pictured here with CareerTech State Director Marcie Mack, spent a day at the state Capitol this week to talk with state legislators.

 

OHCWC conference coming in May

The 2019 Oklahoma Healthcare Workforce Center Simulation Conference, “Digging into Debriefing: Making Simulation Meaningful” will be May 21 at OSU-OKC in the Allied Health Building, 440 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City.

During this faculty development opportunity, Kristina Thomas Dreifuerst will guide participants through the process of using debriefing for meaningful learning with students in on-campus simulations and in off-campus traditional clinical settings. Participants will have an opportunity to break into small groups for hands-on practice debriefing. These breakout sessions will be facilitated by Dreifuerst and four of her colleagues.

CareerTech filling the skills gap

A recent Tulsa World article concerning recruiting high school students to manufacturing jobs to help fill the skills gap highlighted new initiatives at Tulsa Tech.

One initiative, Tulsa Tech’s embedded program, in which it offers programs in space at a high school that it renovated and equipped. This fall, 23 area high schools will have on-site programs.
