CareerTech Offerings at Middle, Junior, and Senior High Schools and Technology Centers

These programs provide hands-on learning and opportunities to explore potential careers for students in grades six through 12 and adults.

During the academic year 2016-2017 . . .

  • Courses were offered in 391 K-12 school districts, 29 technology centers, 16 Skills Centers sites, 31 Adult Basic Education providers and more than 7,800 businesses.
  • Secondary enrollments were 159,686*
  • Postsecondary enrollments were 363,222*
  • More than 88,000 middle school through adult students were members of at least one of the seven co-curricular CareerTech student organizations, which help develop teamwork and leadership skills for the workplace and for life.
    *NOTE: Students enrolled are duplicated in some categories.

Oklahoma CareerTech graduates add $3.5 billion annually to the state’s economy.

During the 2016-2017 academic year . . .

  • Nearly half of Oklahoma ninth- through 12th-grade students — 83,728 — were enrolled in CareerTech classes.
  • During FY16, 94 percent of CareerTech graduates had positive placement (employed, military and continuing education).
