Special Notes

Great news! The Gaylord Texan will be waiving ALL bus parking fees for NLC!

Bus parking will still take place in Lot R. Drivers will be responsible for getting from Lot R / Marshalling yard to the hotel on their own, as there will be no shuttle service available for them.

In order to plan for arrival and departure of the buses, please complete this form

Overnight self-parking for car/truck/SUV is available in the Gaylord Texan Parking Garage for $14.30, and valet parking is $31.00.

This meeting is designed to allow the State Officer Team to update you on important conference activities, safety protocol, and more. Also, any remaining trading pins may be purchased at this meeting for $2.00 each (cash or check only)

Important Deadlines

February 15, 2018:  To be eligible to compete at the NLC, national membership dues must be postmarked/submitted by this date.

April 1, 2018: BPA Cares submissions are due (Professional Award Submissions due March 15).

April 1, 2018: Ambassador Torch Award résumés must be completed by students online and approved/submitted online by a local advisor/reviewer by this date to be eligible.

April 1, 2018: Online contest registration closes. After this date, all contest registration must be completed onsite at the conference.

April 1, 2018: NLC online housing reservations must be submitted.  All hotel registrations after this date will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

April 2-6, 2018: Final online registration rate period.

April 6, 2018:  Last day for online conference pre-registration. Conference registration after this date must be onsite at your time of arrival.

April 19, 2018: All NLC payments due to the National Center.

April 26, 2018: Deadline for all Refund Requests. All requests must be submitted using the online form.

May 6, 2018: National Staff will be on site in Dallas, TX. The National Center will be closed May 7-18.

Contest Related Deadlines: Please read the WSAP Competitive Event Guidelines and note the important deadlines in your calendar where applicable.

Information Regarding Pre-Submits for NLC

The pre-submission system is open and ready for entries. The deadline for pre-submitted events is quickly approaching. All pre-submitted events must be submitted electronically to by April 01, 2018, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. No exceptions will be made. Please do not wait until the last minute to submit. Each contest site will contain instructions on how to upload files. Contestants must be registered for NLC and have their contestant ID numbers ready when uploading files. All files (unless specifically indicated in the WSAP Guidelines) must be submitted in PDF format.

Tips to remember:

  • The student must log in using their contestant ID and password to submit the entry.
  • Students are only allowed to submit one. Make sure all documents have been uploaded before clicking the Submit button.
  • If submitting for a team, only one team member needs to submit the team’s entry. Do not have each team member upload the same entry multiple times.
  • If competing in Interview Skills or Advanced Interview Skills, it is best to download a copy of the application, fill it out, and then transfer the information to the electronic application online. Students cannot save and come back to the application.
  • Be sure that when logging in, students select the correct division.
  • Do NOT wait until the last minute to submit entries
