Hello HOSA Advisers!

  1. Please review Emails #1, #2, #2a.
  2. STEM Premier Competitive Events requirements - linked to OK HOSA website.
  3. Recognition Events (HATS) submission requirements - linked to each event guideline.
  4. Important HOSA Dates (deadline dates) - included with Email #1.
  5. The following NEW information now linked to the OK HOSA website.
    1. NAMI Walk registration form.
    2. Conference at a Glance.
  6. NEW Conference at a Glance - With the GREAT problem of OK HOSA growing, we have had to change the competitive events schedule. I presented the Proposed Agenda at Summer Conference AND Fall leadership Conference. I have met with Moore Norman Tech Center and Embassy Suites staff, and we have had to make some additional changes of days and times. The 2018 Competitive Event schedule (Conference at a Glance) is now linked to the OK HOSA website. The biggest changes that will probably affect the most people are the following:
    1. Competitive events will begin Monday, April 9, at 8:30 with event personnel orientation at 8 a.m.
    2. Opening Session will be Monday, April 9, at 8:30 p.m.
    3. Health Career Display will be Tuesday, April 10.
    4. Forensic Medicine will be Monday, April 9.
    5. Epidemiology will be Monday, April 9.
    6. Home Health Aide, Nursing Assisting and Personal Care will be Monday, April 9.
  7. Please review the 2018 Competitive Event schedule for all other changes.
  8. OK HOSA Instagram - Please encourage your students (as well as you) to start following OK HOSA on Instagram. There are two accounts out there. Please choose the “ok_hosa" account.
  9. Conference Registration - Feb. 5-16, 2018.
  10. Online Testing - Feb. 19-March 2 - I will be sending testing information to your testing proctor after the first of February. Please contact your testing proctor to schedule your students testing. Do not wait until the last days. Testing WILL NOT be extended for any reason!
  11. Photo ID required - I have been informed that starting in 2019, National HOSA will begin requiring competitors to show a photo ID to compete at ILC. So Oklahoma HOSA is going to start that requirement this year. The photo ID can be a driver’s license, school ID, ID from DMV, passport, etc. - any official photo ID.
  12. OSU HOSA meeting - Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Human Sciences Building Room 230. Please share this information with your former students who now attend OSU!
