Projects and Unique Attributes

Established in 1967, Autry Technology Center is one of the five original vocational-technical schools in Oklahoma.  Today, Autry has grown to serve more than 16,000 individuals annually and has earned the Oklahoma Association of Technology Center’s Gold Star Award 12 times.  Autry’s mission is to align resources, people, knowledge, skills and opportunity to build self-worth and ensure economic prosperity in Oklahoma and beyond.

Autry Technology Center provides career-training programs for high school students and adults.  One hundred percent of students are members of Autry's student organizations and contribute thousands of volunteer hours to charitable organizations.  Many young adult students attend Autry tuition-free for up to three years following high school graduation thanks to the Autry Scholarship.  Secondary students living in the technology center district who attend a public, private, parochial, charter, or home school are eligible to attend tuition-free.

Autry also provides comprehensive services to more than 500 business and industry partners.  As a workforce resource, Autry offers customized training at the convenience of its business partners.  Autry's staff serves on area boards and committees and participates in over 100 different community organizations to help promote Autry's services and improve the community.  Autry also plays a significant role in area economic development through collaborative efforts with the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Alliance, local government and area businesses to further increase job opportunities for students.

Autry Technology Center offers unique resources to the community, such as a youthful offender welding program, SIM safety training trailers, a five-story fire tower and a business incubator.  These programs and more are what have made Autry a number one career tech in the state for total enrollments.
